Duration of study
The duration of study is defined as three (3) academic semesters, including the time for the preparation of the thesis. The maximum time allowed for the completion of study is set at four (4) academic semesters, with the exception of students who have applied for and received approval for a deferral of one semester for the preparation of the Diploma thesis.
Tuition fees
The tuition fees amount to 2,500€ for the whole Programme. Up to 30% of admitted students are fully exempted from tuition fees based on income criteria.
Number of admissions
The maximum number is set at 90 postgraduate students per year (30 students per specialisation). The exact number of admitted students for each academic year is determined by a decision of the Department Assembly, taking into account the exceptions provided for in Article 5 and paragraph 6.4 of this Regulation.
It is noted that the maximum number of postgraduate students per lecturer of the P.M.S. is six (6). The maximum number of postgraduate students in the P.M.S. of the Department is approximately one hundred and fifty (150) per year in relation to the number of one hundred and forty (140) undergraduate students enrolled in the Department per year and twenty-one (21) faculty members of the Department.
Delivery of the courses – Distance learning
The courses of the Postgraduate Programme are delivered on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
The duration is two semesters (winter and spring), each of which lasts 15 weeks (13 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for examinations). Attendance of the courses is compulsory for students.
At least 70% of the courses in the Programme is taught through distance learning using state-of-the-art teaching methods.
Application for admission to the Programme
The Department, on dates set by the Department Assembly, issues a call for expression of interest for the next academic year of the P.M.S. The call specifies the admission requirements, the categories of graduates and the number of positions available, the mode of admission, the selection criteria, etc., the deadlines for the submission of applications and the supporting documentation required. Applications together with the necessary supporting documents are submitted to the Secretariat of the Department of Social and Education Policy either in paper or in electronic form.
